Vietnam reopen visa application (e-visa & visa on arrival) for citizens of Slovakia starting from March 15, 2022

Updated: 06:52 PM - 14 Nov,2024

The Covid 19 pandemic has greatly interrupted the tourism and travel industries. In order to fight the rapid spread of this deadly virus, countries around the world have decided to close their respective borders. In Vietnam, the government has stopped accepting visa applications from all foreign visitors. This is to prevent the entry of foreign visitors that could potentially carry the virus and spread it into the country.

Thankfully, the visa suspension is only temporary. Slowly, the world is trying to go back to normal now. Vietnam is hoping to lure more foreign visitors into the country once again in order to promote its tourism industry. Citizens from Slovakia who are thinking of going to Vietnam should now start with their visa applications.

Applying for Vietnam Visa for Citizens of Slovakia

Slovak citizens are among those foreign nationals that need a visa to enter Vietnam, whether it is for business or tourism purposes. The good news is that they are eligible for two types of Vietnam visas and both visas are easy to apply. These are the e-visas and the visa on arrival.

For Slovak visitors who will only be staying in Vietnam for less than a month, the e-visa is a great choice. This is good for single entry and the maximum length of your stay should only be 30 days. If you’re going to Vietnam on a cruise, this is a great visa to use. Also, travelers who are entering Vietnam through its land border entry points can use this visa. Of course, it’s also acceptable at the airports. The best thing about this visa is that applying for it is done online. You will just need to fill out an online form and submit your application.

But if you need a visa that will allow you to stay in the country a little longer, the visa on arrival is what you should get. When you apply for this visa, you will be asked to choose whether you need a single entry or multiple entry visas. Plus, it will let you stay in the country for up to 60 days. But take note that this visa is only given to you when you arrive at the airport. Therefore, you should choose this only when you’re flying into the country.

How to Apply for the Vietnam E-visa for Citizens of Slovakia

If you need an easy way to get a visa to Vietnam, choose the e-visa. As stated, the visa can easily be applied online. You just need to fill out an online application form. When the visa is approved, it will be sent to you online as well. There’s no need to go to an embassy to claim the visa. Here’s how to apply for this visa.

  1. Go to the website of Vietnam electronic visa application. Fill out the form with your name, nationality, and other important details. Review everything before you proceed.
  2. On the next page, upload the requirements needed. You will be asked for the copy of your passport and also digital copies of your passport-sized photos. Make sure you have them handy.
  3. When you’re done uploading the requirements, click the next button to make a payment. The processing fee will cost around $25 and you can pay with your debit card, credit card, or PayPal account. Submit your payment and wait for a confirmation that the visa application has been received.
  4. After 3 business days, you’ll receive an update about your e-visa. If it’s approved, you’ll get a link to download the e-visa. This will be in the form of a PDF. Once you have the visa, just print it out and bring it on your trip to Vietnam.

How to Apply for the Vietnam Visa on Arrival for Citizens of Slovakia

As the name suggests, the visa on arrival is the type of visa that you’ll get upon arrival. However, before you fly to Vietnam, there are certain requirements you need to prepare. First, you need to register in advance in order to be given a pre-approval letter. Here’s the process of getting a Vietnam visa on arrival.

  1. Fill out the visa application form to register online. Submit the form and wait for an email. On the email that you’ll receive, you will be given a pre-approval letter and a blank application form. You need to print them and fill out the application form.
  2. Upon arriving in Vietnam, look for the counter that says Visa Landing. Here, submit your pre-approval letter, application form, photo, and passport. Then pay the $25 stamping fee.
  1. Wait on one side while the officer on duty will process your visa. Once it’s ready, your name will be called. Go back to the counter and get your passport. Check the passport and you’ll find that it already has the visa sticker in it.
